Bush Offers Taxpayers $300
From The Onion: Bush Offers Taxpayers Another $300 if We Go To War
"I get
the green light from the American people, and they get 300 smackeroos," Bush
told members of the Senate budget committee last Friday. "Any questions?"
Which reminds me, have you seen these new iPods?" added Bush, pulling an Apple-brand MP3 player from his pocket and holding it up to the crowd. "It costs $299 for one of these little buggers, but it holds a thousand songs. They're amazing."

The Eccentric Art of Lewis Smith
Lewis
Smith...
...lived most of his life in the woods of Ohio, alone after the death of his mother; drawing, writing, and painting on paper, cardboard, and the walls of his house and buildings. His work reflects his preoccupation with muscular women (especially boxers and wrestlers), trains, time, and money. He did not take up art until he was in his 60's. Lewis Smith passed away in 1998.
This site features his art (which is for sale) and his writings. My favorite quote:
He Run A 10 Ton Truck 12 Miles To Get A Box Of Carpet Tacks ...

Wide Angle Pets
This site, which
is in Japanese, features lots of
pictures of puppies and kittens.
My guess is that the title is something like "Pets always look cute when photographed with an ultra wide angle lens."

Gigantic Chee-to Discovered
One of the top news
stories today centers around a
giant Chee-to found by a Navy officer.
It's believed to be the largest Chee-to in the world. The cheesy glob of fried cornmeal that Navy Petty Officer Mike Evans found last week in a bag of the snacks is about the size of a small lemon and weighs in at about half an ounce.
How could such a thing happen?
Chee-tos Development Manager Kevin Cogan's job is to ponder such mysteries. He believes that some of the cheddar seasoning in the company's machines built up and plopped out in big blob. That sneaked past inspectors. "We call it Seasoning Accumulation,"

Images of Scientists

- Seventh graders describe and draw pictures of scientists.
- They visit the Fermilab and meet actual scientists.
- They describe and draw more pictures of scientists.
The before and after drawings and comments are very interesting.
And speaking of science, I discovered a huge collection of science jokes.

Parker Brothers vs U.S. Mint?
Colored money is coming to the U.S. I'm no lawyer, but I think I see a nasty law suit on the horizon.
